Recognition was given to Will for greeting members, with acknowledgments to various attendees including Hazel (a first-time visitor), Adam, Savannah, and several students from Hinsdale.

Updates from Members
 
Career Center Update (Savannah)
  • Savannah provided a brief update indicating there was not much new activity at the Career Center.
Rotary Exchange Student Update (Adam)
  • Adam shared highlights from the past week:
    • Attended a party with other Rotary exchange students in Amherst, New Hampshire.
    • Bid farewell to a friend and is preparing for the end-of-year trip, which will be the final gathering for the year.
    • Plans to reconnect with exchange students in Europe and possibly attend another prom.
    • Described an adventure attending the "Romeo and Juliet" ballet; after the event, valet misplaced their car keys, resulting in a late-night wait and arriving home at 2:30 am.
4. Service Above Self Stories
Tribute to "Bob" – 15-Year Remembrance
  • A personal story was shared commemorating a man named Bob, who passed away 15 years prior (June 4, 2010).
    • Bob was a business owner (Bob’s Auto Towing and Rescue, Vernon, and previously part of Marvel Collision).
    • He was characterized by his generosity, always willing to help people, often without concern for personal gain, and lived by principles akin to the Four-Way Test.
    • The story was offered as both a tribute and an example of service above self; $15 was donated in honor of each year since his passing.

International Update – Tristam Workforce Development Project in Dakota
  • Tristam announced a slideshow featuring images sent by Wendy Gill (Dakota leader) related to a workforce development project.
    • Efforts included setting up a DIY book library for locals to support trades education (mechanic, electrician, carpenter skills).
    • Wendell (local partner) initiated the building of greenhouses with help from family members, using repurposed materials.

8:00 AM - Guest Speaker: Town of Brattleboro - Planning Commission: John Couleur and Tom Mosakowski
Tom and John spent the entirety of the meeting conducting a survey to get the feedback of the club and their opinions on various topics surrounding Brattleboro strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.  Visit brattleboro.gov for more information on the Planning Commission and to join their email group.
