Welcome and Thank Yous
- Debra started by welcoming new Student Rotarian, Tucker
- Debra volunteered to be the server at our first meeting back in July
- Roger agreed to take notes after Kristin leaves to bring Alice to school
- Debra thanked:

Announcements
Changeover Party
- June 23
- A sign-up sheet was passed around
- The Rotary singers were encouraged to practice the song that Josh wrote and Evelyn helped edit.
- Ben will be the Emcee.
- Members will be asked to vote on a Service Above Self award during assembly.
Debra’s last day as President
President Elect Roger will be sworn in during the changeover party
Garden “Party”/Maintenance
- Debra thanked guest Shelly and her husband Dave for helping with the garden
- The next group gardening day will be Sunday, June 21 at 10:00 a.m.
- We need volunteers for regular watering. Londa has been helpful.
o A Sign-up Genius will follow.
Socials
- Will hosted a social outing at his house. It was noted that it was a lot of fun.
- Will thanked everyone who helped pick up before they left.
- Diane suggested going to a Swamp Bats game as a social.
Welcome Center
- The fundraiser will take place this Saturday, June 20. The goal is to be set up by 7:30.
- Nick noted that two booth slots remained; volunteers were requested.
- For remaining foods: Toni offered to make chili, Kristin is making vegetarian/vegan soup, Justin will make gluten free cupcakes.
- Toni also offered to shop for anything leftover.
- It was suggested that everyone making food label items that need to be saved (e.g., crock pots, ladles).
History Tour
- These will take place June 20 and 27 at 11:00, led by Sandy and Jon S.
- Meet at the Plaza Park. Donations are encouraged
Train Station Opening
- Events are happening June 24: ribbon cutting, speeches, kid friendly booths, etc.
- There may be a theatrical event at 6:00.
- Melissa will find a schedule and circulate via Club Runner.
Filming
- July 24-26 the Vermont Suitcase Co. is coming back to Brattleboro to shoot a short film, They’re looking for place for one person to stay, if anyone is able to help.
Student Rotarian: Tucker
Tucker introduced himself and shared that he is heavily involved with the arts, and is currently stage managing a show in Putney that is an interesting spin on the Odessey.
Birthdays & Anniversaries
Birthdays
- June birthdays: Toni (6/13), Will (6/16), Tucker (6/18), Melissa (6/25), Sandy (6/27)
- Members were reminded that there is a $5 fee on your birthday; $20 if you do not wish to be sung to. Birthday members were asked what they did or will do for their birthdays:
o Sandy will be leading a history tour
o Will’s kids and grandkids visited, and they played soccer
o Tucker is going to Rhode Island to a casino
o Melissa will paddle with friends
o Toni went to the White Mountains, and will spend time with Kyle
Anniversaries
- Nick celebrates 13 years as a member. He spoke on the rewarding nature of being a Rotarian, and how much good people in this group do through their service.
Members then enjoyed breakfast. After reconvening…
Student Rotarian Fees
Kevin collected fees from members who did not sign student Rotarian sheets in the 2025-2026 school year. In total, $25 was collected for the club.
Roger took over notes for Kristin (thank you, Roger!)
Brags
Many, many positive brags were shared by several members.
Service Above Self Award
Debra distributed ballots for award votes. The award will be given during the upcoming changeover party.
Club Assembly
- Nick led the group working on Disc Golf
- Sandy and Londa led conversation on trivia night, and suggested “Rotary Club Trivia Night,” to which we would invite surrounding clubs to fill a table (or more) with their own guests and members as participants, and proceeds would go to their designated charity.
- Several birthday singers gathered to work on the 30 for 30 song that Josh wrote for changeover.
- Roger will ask discussion leaders to recap their discussions at the July 8 meeting.
